John Webster
Executive Producer / Show Creator

Executive Producer and show creator, John Webster is a lifelong boater and U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master.

After 25 years as a successful CEO, Webster has turned his knowledge of boating and business— as well as his creative energies— to television. Making Waves TV, his new endeavor, emphasizes high production values, unique camera angles, big openings, and a few stunts. Blended with good food, great locations and plenty of water sports, Webster hopes his new show will not only entertain, but inspire viewers to get out, explore and discover.

Born in Miami, Webster moved north and grew up sailing the Chesapeake Bay. Later turning to powerboats, he cruised thousands of miles of U.S. waters and the Virgin Islands. He has served as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 10 years, both as an Instructor and a Vessel Examiner. Webster’s passion for the sea extends below the surface. He is a Master diver with experience throughout the U.S., Caribbean and Central America.

Helicopter Pilot Paul Barth, Aerials DP Steve Cassidy

Paul Barth
Helicopter Pilot / Aerials Coordinator

To get rock-solid, dramatic aerial cinematography, Making Waves got Paul Barth. Barth has top-gun like skills and you’ll find him flying (barefoot!), backwards at 40 knots and 10 feet off the water. He’ll do whatever it takes to get the shot.

Barth flies several helicopters based strategically throughout the U.S., and transported to shooting locations in a 53-foot custom transport / production trailer, pulled by a Kenworth T-2000 tractor. The custom rig serves as a self-contained mobile base of operations once on-site.

The trailer features a custom designed dolly and ramp system at the rear, to accommodate loading and unloading of the helicopter, a full machine shop, complete kitchen, restroom and shower, and lounge/viewing area. The truck also features an auxiliary JET-A fuel tank for extended on-site helicopter operations.

Incorporated in the viewing area is state-of-the-art playback gear, including a 20-inch Sony component broadcast monitor, a Sony 42-inch Plasma HD monitor and Microwave video downlink.
